Calling the Westminster reverse mortgage counselor directly is the fastest and most convenient way to get an appointment scheduled. This is one of only Westminster counseling center authorized to provide HECM counseling but you can also find other counselors in North Denver and the surrounding areas. Although phone counseling has become very popular these days, if you live in Westminster or Northern Denver, we encourage you to meet the counselor face to face.
Certificate of Completion
As soon as your counseling is complete, the reverse mortgage counselor will issue a certificate that will need to signed and provided to your lender of choice. You may not sign any loan documents or order an appraisal until this is completed.
Why Do I Need Counseling?
Counseling is designed to make sure homeowners have a clear understanding of how the HECM program works. It is also a great opportunity to revisit some of the loan expectations that the homeowners discussed with their lender. The counseling center is a government sponsored agency that is there to protect consumers from predatory lending and misleading sales tactics.
