Borrowers can visit these national reverse mortgage counselors who offer HECM counseling over the phone for a small fee. Most of these national counselors charge $125 but this fee may be waived on a case by case basis. Colorado residents are encouraged to work with a local counselor but since this is not required, homeowners can schedule counseling with any HUD approved counselor of their choice. You can also visit the HUD roster of all the approved counselors in the United States.
