Calling the counselor directly is the fastest and most convenient way to get an appointment scheduled. This is the only counseling center authorized to provide HECM counseling in Edgewater but you can also find other counselors in North Denver and the surrounding areas. Although phone counseling has become very popular these days, if you live in the Edgewater Metro Area, we encourage you to meet with a counselor face to face.

As soon as your counseling is complete, the counselor will issue a certificate that will need to be signed and provided to your lender of choice. You may sign loan documents prior to the counseling course but 3rd party services such as an appraisal may not be ordered until counseling is completed.
Why Do I Need Counseling?
Counseling is designed to make sure homeowners have a clear understanding of how the HECM program works. It is also a great opportunity to revisit some of the loan expectations that the homeowners discussed with their lender. The counseling center is a government sponsored agency that is there to protect consumers from predatory lending and misleading sales tactics.
