Please contact the counseling office by phone and not by email. Calling the counselor directly is the fastest and most convenient way to get an appointment scheduled. This is the only counseling center authorized to provide HECM counseling in Douglas County but you can also find many other counselors in Denver and surrounding areas. Although phone counseling has become very popular these days, if you live in the Douglas County area, we encourage you to meet with the counselor face to face. **PLEASE NOTE** Non-borrowing spouse must attend class

Certificate of Completion
As soon as your counseling is complete, the counselor will issue a certificate that will need to be signed and provided to your lender of choice. You may sign loan documents prior to the counseling course but 3rd party services such as an appraisal may not be ordered until counseling is completed.
Why Do I Need Counseling?
Counseling is designed to make sure homeowners have a clear understanding of how the HECM program works. It is also a great opportunity to revisit some of the loan expectations that the homeowners discussed with their lender. The counseling center is a government sponsored agency that has no agenda or incentives to steer people into any particular program.
